No. Every page is built from sections and blocks in the theme editor. The only optional technical step is creating product metafields, done in the Shopify admin, not in code.

Yes. In the Shopify Theme Store, click Try theme to add it as an unpublished theme. You can fully customize it and preview via a temporary URL without publishing.

Those blocks fall back to shared section content until you add per-product metafields. Fill custom.specs and custom.directions on each product. See Product metafields.

Check that:

1. The option is named one of your swatch option names (Color by default) — see Variants & swatches
2. The color has a native Shopify swatch or a theme color-map entry
3. Swatches are enabled for cards / product page in theme settings

It only appears when your store has more than one Shopify Market configured. Set up markets in Shopify admin → Settings → Markets and the selector appears automatically. See Markets & localization.

Filters are managed by Shopify’s free Search & Discovery app. See Filters.

Yes — add them in the product’s Media area in Shopify admin. They render below the image gallery. No product is required to have them. See Video & 3D media.

Your content lives in Shopify, not the theme files. When a new Citera version is released, follow Shopify’s theme-update flow to move your settings to the new version.

We ship a minor update (bug fixes, small features) every 6–8 weeks and a major update (new sections, big features) roughly twice a year. Check Changelog for the latest.

Yes. Citera works for any product category. The demo content is a starting point — you replace it with your own.

Yes — the Featured product section on the homepage plus a simple product page works great for single-product stores. Skip the featured collection and collection list sections.

Yes. Citera supports Shopify’s app block system, so most modern apps (reviews, upsells, subscriptions, wishlist) install without theme code changes.
