Payment icons
The row of small credit-card and payment-method icons that usually sits at the very bottom of the footer, right above the copyright.
Show payment icons
The icons appear automatically — Citera reads what payment methods are enabled in your Shopify admin (Settings → Payments) and shows only those.
No configuration needed. You don’t manually pick which icons to show. Enable Klarna in your payment settings, and the Klarna icon appears. Turn off Amex, and the Amex icon disappears.
What icons can appear
Citera renders icons for these methods when they’re enabled:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
- Diners Club
- JCB
- UnionPay
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Shop Pay
- Klarna
- Afterpay / Clearpay
- Sezzle
- Alipay
- WeChat Pay
Position
Payment icons sit at the very bottom of the footer, above the copyright text. On mobile they wrap onto multiple rows.
Should you show them?
- Yes if your primary demographic values reassurance (high-ticket, older shoppers, first-time buyers)
- Skip if your brand is design-minimal and payment icons feel visually noisy — you’ll still show them at checkout, which is when reassurance matters most.
